IdentityMind Launches Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking
PALO ALTO, CA., December 20, 2018 – IdentityMind, Digital Identities You Can Trust, announced today that it is launching an all-encompassing initiative to support the fight against human trafficking. This initiative includes partnerships with key non-profit organizations for technology development and economic support. As part of that initiative, this holiday season, IdentityMind will work with Operation Underground Railroad (OUR) and Veterans for Child Rescue (V4CR), two charitable organizations focused on awareness of and the prevention of human trafficking.
Like most nefarious activities, human trafficking takes advantage of the financial system worldwide to clear the funds and proceeds from their illegal activities; most of it in a form of money laundering. Anti Money Laundering (AML) regulations worldwide attempt to thwart these operations in an effort to prevent these nefarious activities. So, although organizations focus on the cost of compliance, the real tragedy is the impact these activities have on society and the victims of these crimes. For instance, there are over 245,000 children that are being placed at risk through child trafficking each year. And, this is a growing problem, even in the developed world, as our children, via social media and other channels, are more accessible than ever to predators and traffickers.

Our primary methods are to widely expose the threat through multiple mass media platforms and to directly combat the problem by running joint sting operations against traffickers with law enforcement and allied NGOs.
